The photo to the right is one taken of me a couple weeks ago at Grandaddy's birthday party (30 weeks pregnant). To the left is a photo of Grandaddy with three of the four granddaughter's, plus a great-granddaugher on the way! Lindsay (to the left of Granddaddy), is hosting a baby shower for me next month and I am really looking forward to it. She has already worked so hard. She has been so excited about our baby and it is such an encouragement to me.

We are so thankful for Granddaddy and I told him I want him to do all the things with Julia-Rose that he did with us when we were children like sing us "Mama's Little Baby Loves Shortnin Bread", and sit her up on his lap and rub her hands on his course skin. He also continues to hug us every time he sees us - even though we are now all grown! All four of my grandparents have had a very strong presence in my life and I was blessed to have all four of them until this past June when Mawmaw passed away. Mawmaw's maiden name was Rose, from which Julia-Rose inherits part of her name. Julia was Grandaddy's mother, and Bayless (Julia-Rose's middle name), was Shawn's grandmother's maiden name. Choosing our baby's name was especially important to me, and lot of thought went into her name. I am very proud of my family's strong Christian heritage, so I wanted our daughter to have family names. Shawn spent a great deal of time with his grandmother growing up and she was so special to him that we wanted her to be named after her as well.

We haven't made much progress on the nursery, but plan on doing some work in there this weekend, so I will post photos of that as soon as I have some to share. Until then, thanks Lindsay for allowing me to steal photos from your blog! :) I am also having my first shower, given by our church, on September 29 and I will post photos from that once I have them.
